Susan Emanuel is a Canadian born designer who studied fashion design at Ryerson University. She has been in the industry for over
20 years and her works have been featured in Canadian Living and Century Homes magazine, the Toronto Star and on the television showCityLine with Marilyn Dennis. Susan has also made a guest appearance on Breakfast Television.
Susan’s creative specialties include
colorful wallhangings, blankets and pillows that can be tailored to suit each customer’s needs. Through her work with various
interior designers, Susan’s work can be found in some of the most luxurious homes in Toronto.
Susan also owned and operated
a successful clothing and home decor store in Toronto called Zanneeke Artwear. Zanneeke (which is Dutch for “Susan”), showcased the
unique clothing line Susan designed which catered to hip urban men and women between the ages of 18-50. The store also carried a selection
of home accessories, which included chests and ottomans that Susan built, and supported local artists by providing them with a venue
for showcasing their talent.
After the birth of her daughter Chelseyah in 2003, Susan decided to close the store to devote more
time to her child. It was while caring for Chelseyah that Susan realized her true passion: designing colorful, inspiring and creative
rooms for children. And so in 2004, with the support and encouragement of her husband, family, friends and clients, my kidsquarters was
born.
